Dr. Luke Reid

Mackay Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists are a Mackay based Otolaryngology practice led by Dr Luke B. Reid. A graduate from Monash Medical School, Mr Reid has worked in Melbourne, rural Victoria, Northern Territory and Queensland. He has completed a highly prestigious Post Graduate Fellowship Training program in the United Kingdom at the Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI) in Rhinology, Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery. The MRI is the preeminent teaching hospital in the north of the United Kingdom.

Dr Reid has published medical publications and written chapters on orbital decompression in ENT Specialist medical textbooks.

He has a special interest on Rhinology and sinus surgery; Functional and Cosmetic Rhinoplasty; and Nasal Reconstruction (ie post traumatic and post ablative reconstructive surgery for skin cancer).

Dr Reid lives in Mackay with his wife and two children. He strongly believes in supporting the local community by providing excellent surgical services locally.


Dr. John Robinson

A graduate from of Melbourne Medical school, Dr John Robinson has over 20 years of specialist experience. He has worked as a consultant to London University at the Royal National Nose, Throat and Ear Hospital in Surgery and at the Prince Henry Hospital in Melbourne. He has published over a dozen papers in international journals and addressed a number of international meetings including the Royal Society of Medicine, London.

Having built a comprehensive network of tertiary consultants in major cities that assist with complex problems not suited to regional practice, Mackay ENT is ready for any problem ranging from snoring to orthodontic problems related to nasal blocking.


Dr. Janitha Jayawardana (Dr JJ)

Dr JJ graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2008, and went on to obtain experience working in various surgical, emergency and intensive care units in Perth. He moved to Victoria in 2013 to pursue advanced surgical training in Ear Nose and Throat surgery where he worked in various metropolitan tertiary centers. Dr Janitha Jayawardana has a keen interest in supporting local communities having grown up in Kalgoorlie (rural Western Australia) as a child and teenager.


Dr. Kevin Nguyen

An Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgeon who has obtained his specialist training through the Royal Australian College of Surgeons at the beginning of 2018. He studied medicine at The University of Melbourne, and in 2008, he graduated with a double degree of MBBS and Bachelor of Medical Science. Kevin is able to fluently converse in English and Vietnamese. He is able to see patients with various ENT issues.


Dr. David Wright

An Ear Nose and Throat Specialist with over 20 years’ experience. Originally from the United Kingdom, he studied medicine at Guy’s Hospital, London. He subsequently completed a ‘Calman Specialist Training Program’ in Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery. He then underwent advanced training in Head & Neck Surgery in Australia. He was the ‘Head and Neck Fellow’ at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in 2005 & 2006. Dr Wright has three post graduate Fellowship qualifications with Colleges of Surgeons in both the UK and Australia.
