Mackay Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists are a Mackay based Otolaryngology practice led by Dr Luke B. Reid. A graduate from Monash Medical School, Mr Reid has worked in Melbourne, rural Victoria, Northern Territory and Queensland. He has completed a highly prestigious Post Graduate Fellowship Training program in the United Kingdom at the Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI) in Rhinology, Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery. The MRI is the preeminent teaching hospital in the north of the United Kingdom.

Dr Reid has published medical publications and written chapters on orbital decompression in ENT Specialist medical textbooks.

He has a special interest on Rhinology and sinus surgery; Functional and Cosmetic Rhinoplasty; and Nasal Reconstruction (i.e. post trauma).

Dr Reid lives in Mackay with his wife and two children. He strongly believes in supporting the local community by providing excellent surgical services locally.

Dr. Brandon Cadd


Dr Brandon Cadd is an Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon with higher training in Head and Neck Cancer Surgery and Thyroid Surgery. Brandon enjoys all aspects of Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery including treating both paediatric and adult patients.

Dr Cadd’s initial studies were at the University of Queensland where he obtained a Bachelor of Science before then undertaking his medical studies, graduating in 2008. Dr Cadd undertook general residency positions in Toowoomba before moving to London for three years where he spent time initially in Emergency Medicine before commencing his career in ENT at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals. Dr Cadd undertook his formal ENT training in South East Queensland, including General ENT, Paediatric ENT, Otology and Head and Neck Surgery training positions and was granted a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2022. In 2022-2023 Dr Cadd undertook an Advanced Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at University College London Hospitals.

This fellowship focused on the management of head and neck cancers and included experience in Thyroid Surgery, Trans Oral Laser Surgery and Trans Oral Robotic Surgery (TORS).

Dr Cadd has publications in various medical journals and has presented scientific papers at international, national, and regional meetings. Dr Cadd thoroughly enjoys working with junior surgeons and enjoys his positions as a supervisor of ENT trainees through Logan Hospital as well as his role as an Associate Lecturer through the University of Queensland Medical School.

Dr Cadd will be joining the team at Mackay Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists in October 2023 for several months. Dr Cadd is experienced in all ear, nose and throat concerns with a special interest in head and neck.



Sharon brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to the practice, coming to Mackay ENT with over 34 years of experience in the optical industry. Before joining the practice, she worked as a medical receptionist for a local Optometrist, quickly progressing into the office manager’s position. After moving on from this position Sharon worked as an optical dispenser for six years, and although loving the career she had chosen, was eager to take on a new challenge when the opportunity arose with Mackay ENT. Three years on Sharon excels in her role delivering warm and professional care to patients and families.



Before joining Mackay ENT, Heidi worked for a private health company as a sales consultant. She gained hands-on experience in the Australian health insurance industry. Heidi then moved into a liaison officer role for a hearing provider within the Mackay region picking up a wealth of skills. Over her professional experience, she found her love for medical administration and passion for patient care. Heidi brings her infectious laughter and genuinely positive energy to her valuable role within the team at Mackay ENT.



Kelly has spent the past 6 years in positions such as Teachers Assistant, Workplace Health & Safety Administrator and Sports Co-ordinator. Kelly enjoyed helping the students and having a front row seat watching them grow over the years.

Always holding a strong interest in the medical field, Kelly made the career change to join Mackay ENT as a part of the administration team. Kelly compliments the team with her happy smiles, passion to help people and eagerness to learn new things.



Melora has a vast background in management bringing this experience and leadership to Mackay ENT. She’s led the team in recruiting and training exceptional team members that ensure every patient has a great experience. Before working with Mackay ENT, she worked in the optical industry for over five years. Her love for the patient experience motivated her decision to take on a practice manager position in a specialty field. Melora has now worked with Mackay ENT for over three years. She is always up for a challenge and strives to bring out the best in everyone. Melora drives the wheels of change, always improving and implementing positive change within the ever evolving environment we live in.
